Job description
Overview: <p style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">GovCIO is currently hiring a highly skilled Senior Application Developer with an active Secret clearance to design, build, and modify application software using programming languages such as Java, ColdFusion, JavaScript, and C#. This position will be located in Fairfax, VA and will be a hybrid<span style="color: red;"> </span>position.</span></p> Responsibilities: <ul><li>Implement multiple design patterns.</li><li>Integrate COTS products, use APIs, interact with data repositories, cross-domain solutions, and manage system interfaces.</li><li>Manage legacy code and/or develop new code using container technologies.</li><li>Develop and execute unit tests to verify code meets functional requirements.</li><li>Resolve integration issues, vulnerabilities, and functional defects.</li><li>Develop and maintain secure, scalable Java applications supporting cross-domain data exchange in compliance with federal standards.</li><li>Collaborate with system architects, cybersecurity teams, and government stakeholders to implement mission-critical features.</li><li>Integrate with enterprise services and APIs, ensuring secure communication across multiple classification levels.</li><li>Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical reviews.</li><li>Write clean, well-documented code that adheres to federal security and software development lifecycle (SDLC) guidelines.</li><li>Support modernization efforts by refactoring legacy systems into cloud-native, containerized Java applications.</li><li>Conduct unit and integration testing and assist in automated deployment using CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across development, staging, and production environments.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure interoperability, data integrity, and compliance with cross-domain solution (CDS) policies.</li></ul> Qualifications: <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 12+ years of experience with large integrated projects and 5+ years of professional experience in Java development, preferably in federal or defense contracting environments. (or commensurate experience).</li><li>Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Java SE/EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.</li><li>Familiarity with cross-domain solution architectures, data labeling, and secure data transfer protocols.</li><li>Experience working in secure environments, preferably within the DOJ, and understanding of FISMA, NIST, or RMF compliance.</li><li>Proficiency with build tools (Maven/Gradle), version control (Git), and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).</li><li>Exposure to containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).</li><li>Understanding of secure coding practices and experience with static/dynamic code analysis tools.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a cross-functional Agile team.</li></ul> Posted Salary Range: USD $135,000.00 - USD $165,000.00 /Yr.
