This position offers the chance to bring creative ideas to life and make a lasting impact on product categories across the board.Specific Responsibilities:<ul><li>Responsible for the design, development, verification, and maintenance of firmware to enable new Kitchen and Bath products.</li><li>Work with cross-functional teams to develop system and firmware requirements for new products. Document these requirements appropriately.</li><li>Support the maintenance and updates for existing products throughout the product life cycle.</li><li>Develop and document system firmware architectures.</li><li>Write firmware for use in device control systems, user interfaces, data acquisition devices, sensor interfaces and communication modules.</li><li>Support the verification and release to production.</li><li>Use tools such as emulators, debuggers, oscilloscopes to debug and verify proper operation of system firmware.</li><li>Work in a team environment to develop firmware requirements, architecture, and structure.</li><li>Work on special projects as dictated by the needs of the department. These projects will be technical in nature.</li></ul> Skills/Requirements <ul><li>A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited (or equivalent) institution is required.</li><li>6+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer, or Computer Science Engineering.</li><li>Expert level knowledge of the following programming languages: C, C++, Python.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in firmware design and documentation practices.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in writing firmware for applications incorporating RTOS.</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of object oriented programming.</li><li>Experience with wired and wireless communication protocols: RS485, BLE, WiFi, TCP/IP.</li><li>Good understanding of Hardware including schematics and microcontroller based controls.</li><li>Good organizational capability and high attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work on multiple tasks in a timely fashion with minimal supervision.</li><li>Development of firmware in a professional, team-oriented environment.</li></ul>#LI-SC2 #LI-Onsite Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.We believe in supporting you from the moment you join us, which is why Kohler offers day 1 benefits. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
