Cardiology Nurse Practitioner

Nurse Practitioner Cardiothoracic Surgery (Acute Care Hospital)<br>Target Start Date: March 16, 2026<br>Contract Length: 6 month assignment (potential extension)<br>Schedule<br>Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours, no call<br>Shift Structure & Expectations:<br>Day or night shifts (6:00 a.m. 6:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. 6:30 a.m.)<br>3 12 hour shifts per week<br>Minimum: 2 weekend shifts/month + 5 6 night shifts/month<br>Full-time coverage supporting inpatient cardiothoracic services<br>EMR: Epic<br>Practice Details<br>Setting:<br>Inpatient hospital-based<br>Operating Room, CTICU, and Acute Care Floor<br>High-acuity environment with cardiothoracic postoperative patients<br>Patient Population:<br>Adolescents, adults, geriatrics<br>Post op CT surgery, heart transplant, mechanical circulatory support (ECMO, Impella, IABP)<br>Support:<br>Works collaboratively with CT surgeons, fellows, physicians, APPs, heart failure/transplant teams, and ICU staff<br>High autonomy; first responder to CT surgery patient needs<br>Clinical Responsibilities Include:<br>Daily rounds with multidisciplinary teams<br>Independent management of critically ill CT surgery patients<br>Performing histories & physicals<br>Ordering/interpreting diagnostic studies<br>Perioperative planning & coordination<br>Managing consults, admits, discharges, prescriptions, and referrals<br>Removal of chest tubes, pacing wires, IABPs, and arterial sheaths<br>Limited 1st assist time in OR (EVH-trained providers may participate)<br>Providing patient/family education and arranging follow-up<br>Requirements<br>Role: Nurse Practitioner Cardiothoracic Surgery<br>Experience:<br>Minimum 1 year CT surgery experience required<br>Must have ECMO experience<br>Experience managing critically ill postoperative patients required<br>EVH proficiency strongly preferred<br>License:<br>Active California license required (not willing to license for NPs)<br>Board Certification: Required (Cardiothoracic Surgery specialty)<br>Certifications:<br>ACLS AHA<br>BLS AHA<br>DEA with appropriate schedules<br>Credentialing Timeframe: days<br>Location<br>San Francisco, California acute care hospital cardiothoracic surgery service<br>If you are interested or would like to be presented, please reach out to me for more details.<br>Morgan Hennessey<br>Recruiting Consultant<br>
