Staff React Native Platform Engineer

Click on ‘Apply’ button to find out more.</p> <h3>Role Description</h3> <p>As a Staff React Native Platform Engineer working remotely on Shipt’s Shopper Mobile App team, you will be focused on building a world‑class mobile experience for Shipt Shoppers and architecting reliable, performant and scalable React Native solutions.</p> <h3>Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li>Work with a cross‑functional crew composed of front end engineers, backend engineers, a product manager, a designer, and an engineering manager.</li> <li>Tackle projects from discovery to launch, delivering extraordinary features to customers across the nation.</li> <li>Participate in data‑driven approaches to conduct experiments and iterate upon capabilities, ultimately driving outcomes for the business.</li> <li>Work hands‑on with React Native, React Context, NodeJS, React Query, Typescript, GraphQL, CircleCI, Bugsnag, Amplitude, and Detox.</li> <li>Responsible for code reviews, guiding design discussions, participating in release processes, and providing mentorship to other team members.</li> </ul> <h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>6+ years developer experience, with 4+ years of React Native experience.</li> <li>Experience with native packages and complex package upgrades is a bonus.</li> <li>Experience with testing; unit, integration, e2e, etc.</li> <li>Strong collaboration with Design and Product to consistently ship projects and enhancements.</li> <li>Ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts concisely.</li> <li>Experience with code review to maintain and advocate for best practices.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability of constructive feedback, guidance, and support to other team members through mentorship.</li> <li>Experience leading technical teams.</li> <li>Develop and maintain cross‑platform mobile applications using React Native.</li> <li>Optimize mobile applications for performance and compatibility across a wide variety of iOS and Android versions and devices.</li> <li>Stay updated with React Native trends and best practices for efficient app development, maintenance, and support.</li> <li>Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues specific to cross‑platform mobile development.</li> <li>Proactively adhere to Apple App Store/Google Play Store compliance regulations.</li> <li>Own tasks that support the mobile app as a platform, such as upgrading dependencies and improving CI/CD automation pipelines.</li> <li>Perform testing and establish automated test patterns to strengthen the foundations of the app.</li> <li>Research and mitigate vulnerabilities before they can become exploits.</li> <li>Evangelize secure coding practices.</li> <li>Possess an eye for detail and a passion for problem solving.</li> <li>Preferred minimum of 6 years of experience in mobile development, with some experience in React Native required.</li> <li>Familiarity with Objective‑C, Swift, Java, or Kotlin is desirable.</li> <li>Contributions to libraries (ideally to open source) within the React Native ecosystem strongly preferred.</li> </ul> <h3>Requirements</h3> <ul> <li>Work Arrangement: Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid.</li> <li>In‑office expectations will vary by role and leader.</li> <li>Certain roles may require in‑office presence on a full‑time basis.</li> </ul> <h3>Benefits</h3> <ul> <li>Employees (and eligible family members) are covered by medical, dental, vision and more.</li> <li>Employees may enroll in the company’s 401k plan.</li> <li>Employees will also be eligible to receive discretionary vacation for exempt team members, paid holidays throughout the calendar year, and paid sick leave.</li> <li>Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.</li> </ul></div> #J-18808-Ljbffr
