Job Summary Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Responsibilities <ul> <li>Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.</li> <li>Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.</li> <li>Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.</li> <li>Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.</li> <li>Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.</li> <li>Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.</li> <li>Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.</li> <li>Completes assigned goals.</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> Specifications Experience Minimum Required <ul> <li>Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program.</li> </ul> Preferred/Desired Education Minimum Required <ul> <li>Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with current Registry in Radiography ARRT(R) or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry.</li> </ul> Preferred/Desired <ul> <li>Associates degree in related field</li> </ul> Training Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Special Skills Minimum Required <ul> <li>Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.</li> <li>Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work.</li> </ul> Preferred/Desired Licensure Minimum Required <ul> <li>ARRT(R); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire.
