Job description
<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p> <p>Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.</li> <li>Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.</li> <li>Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.</li> <li>Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.</li> <li>Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.</li> <li>Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.</li> <li>Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.</li> <li>Completes assigned goals.</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Specifications</strong></p> <p><strong>Experience</strong></p> <p><strong><u>Minimum Required</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Preferred/Desired</u></strong></p> <p><strong>Education</strong></p> <p><strong><u>Minimum Required</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with current Registry in Radiography ARRT(R) or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Preferred/Desired</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Associates degree in related field</li> </ul> <p><strong>Training</strong></p> <p><strong><u>Minimum Required</u></strong></p> <p><strong><u>Preferred/Desired</u></strong></p> <p><strong>Special Skills</strong></p> <p><strong><u>Minimum Required</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.</li> <li>Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Preferred/Desired</u></strong></p> <p><strong>Licensure</strong></p> <p><strong><u>Minimum Required</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>ARRT(R); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire. New graduate who will obtain required registry within 120 days of hire. State license as required.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Preferred/Desired</u></strong></p>
