Job description
<p>The University of Florida (UF) Department of Urology at UF Health Shands Hospital is currently seeking a BC/BE Urologist for a full-time faculty position to meet the <strong>expanding clinical demands of our region.</strong> As a <strong>tertiary referral center</strong> serving North Central Florida, Southern Georgia, and surrounding communities, our department experiences a <strong>high volume of patients requiring specialized care</strong> for complex urologic conditions.</p><p>To sustain our mission of providing timely, high-quality care, we are looking to expand our current team of nine full-time urologists. The successful candidate will join a <strong>mature and robust practice</strong> with a primary clinical focus on the office and surgical treatment of <strong>urinary stone disease and BPH cases</strong>. Due to the increasing number of patients requiring metabolic evaluation, prevention care, and advanced surgical interventions-including <strong>ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy</strong>-there is a critical need for an additional fellowship-trained expert to manage this workload.</p><p><strong>Advanced Clinical Resources and Support</strong> To support the high patient throughput and the complexity of cases encountered at a top-tier public school (ranked 7th in the nation), the department provides an <strong>extensive infrastructure</strong> designed for clinical efficiency. This includes:</p><p>* <strong>HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate)</strong> technology.</p><p>* <strong>Four daVinci surgical robots</strong> and UroNav MRI-US fusion prostate biopsy technology.</p><p>* A dedicated <strong>urologic oncology nurse navigator</strong>.</p><p>* <strong>Eight shared mid-level providers</strong> who are specifically integrated into the workflow to support the candidate's clinical practice and ensure patient care is managed effectively.</p><p><strong>Academic and Research Excellence</strong> This position offers the opportunity to join a <strong>multidisciplinary team</strong> of fellowship-trained specialists in reconstruction, oncology, and pediatrics. Beyond clinical duties, the candidate will serve as a <strong>mentor and teacher</strong> for UF urology fellows, residents, and medical students.</p><p>For candidates interested in academic advancement, the UF College of Medicine provides a <strong>superb research environment</strong>, having exceeded <strong>$100M in NIH funding</strong> in 2018.
