A <strong>nocturnist</strong> role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.</p><p><strong>Local Team Collaboration:</strong></p><ul><li><p>We take pride in our established team at SSM Health DePaul Hospital, providing 24/7 care to patients in the 20-bed medical and 18-bed surgical ICU.</p></li><li><p>Our team is comprised of practicing Intensivist physicians and Advanced Practice Providers with a diverse mix of ICU clinical practice time</p></li><li><p>Within the hospital, our team works closely with the multi-disciplinary team within the unit to collaboratively care for patients</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Board-certified acute care trained Nurse Practitioner with unrestricted license.</p></li><li><p>Prior ICU APP practice experience - minimum of 2-3 years post-training ICU practice time.</p></li><li><p>Ability to independently assess, examine, and provide care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including demonstrating procedural competency.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work as a team member.</p></li><li><p>A Missouri state license is preferred.</p></li><li><p>Authorized to work in the U.S.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Scheduling:</strong></p><ul><li><p>12, 12-hour night shifts per month, block shift scheduling, generally 4-5 day stretches.</p></li><li><p>The schedule is managed as equitably as possible, providing APPs with a great work/life balance.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Provide high-quality, comprehensive care to medical/surgical/cardiac / neuro and cardiovascular ICU patients.</p></li><li><p>Present and participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds in the ICU.</p></li><li><p>Work autonomously and multitask within the critical care team.</p></li><li><p>Commit to excellence in the clinical service and demonstrate problem-solving abilities necessary to best serve our patients.</p></li><li><p>Must provide evidence of procedural competence with the following procedures: central lines, arterial lines, intubations, and chest tubes.</p></li><li><p>EMR is Epic.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Living and Working in the Saint Louis area:</strong></p><p>Bridgeton is a second-ring suburb located in Northwestern Saint Louis and is ranked as one of the best places to live in Saint Louis.
