Job description
<strong>Description </strong><br><b> Summary: </b><br>Directs and supervises nursing service and activities during evening, night, and weekend hours.<br><b> Responsibilities: </b><br><ul><li>Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performances and makes recommendations for personnel actions. </li><li>Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. </li><li>Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department. </li><li>Administers the nursing program during the evening, night and weekend shifts and coordinates activities. Promotes cooperation of the staff to achieve department objectives and maintain good department relations. </li><li>Makes complete rounds of all units and notes patients' condition where appropriate. </li><li>Assists attending physicians and aides patients and families as needed in times of stress or crisis. </li><li>Arranges emergency surgery and other services; participates in and evaluates all codes on his/her shift. </li><li>Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records where appropriate. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc. </li><li>Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment. </li><li>Directs maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff. </li><li>Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. </li> </ul><b> Requirements: </b><br><b>Education: </b><br><ul><li>Associates Degree in Nursing. BSN preferred. </li> </ul><b>Experience: </b><br><ul><li>Six months management experience or five years acute care clinical experience. </li><li>Excellent communication (verbal, written, listening) and problem-solving skills. </li> </ul><b>Certifications, Registrations, or Licenses: </b><br><ul><li>Current valid NM or compact RN License. </li><li>BLS required. </li><li>ACLS required or must obtain within six months from date of hire or date of transfer. </li><li>BLS and ACLS must be issued through the American Heart Association. </li> </ul> Work Schedule:<br>MULTIPLE SHIFTS AVAILABLE<br><b> Work Type: </b><br>Per Diem As Needed
