This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and compassionate professional to contribute to exceptional patient outcomes while advancing their career in a collaborative and innovative healthcare environment. </p><p> </p><p>Assist as a member of the surgical team who works with the surgeon, registered nurse, and anesthesiologist delivering direct patient care before, during and after surgery. The technologist functions as an instrument assistant and may also function as a circulating assistant under supervision of a registered nurse.</p> Responsibilities: <ul><li style="line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 9pt;"><strong>Contributes to continuity of care under the direction of a registered nurse.</strong></span><ul><li style="line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 9pt;">a. Assist surgeons at the sterile field with instruments needed for each procedure as defined by preference cards and special request.</span></li><li style="line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 9pt;">b. Provides for routine maintenance, cleaning/sterilization, and management of equipment (and prostheses, if applicable).</span></li><li style="line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 9pt;">c. Maintains current knowledge of procedures and equipment/instruments. Implements other patient care activities as assigned according to Standards of Care and Practice. Coordinates the use of equipment based on OR schedule and patient needs.</span></li><li style="line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 9pt;">f. Organizes and reprioritizes work based on patients' needs, available resources, and unit requirements.</span></li><li style="line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 9pt;">b. Supports compliance with hospital accreditation, state licensure, and other external accrediting agency requirements. Reviews unit/department communication to maintain current working knowledge of job responsibilities. Identifies patients at risk for injury and participates in instituting measures to prevent/reduce the risk. Adheres to AGE APPROPRIATE PROTOCOLS in order to ensure patient safety based on developmental needs. Contributes to prevention of infectious diseases among employees, patients, and visitors by adhering to Infection Control policies and procedures. Completes employee accident reports and contributes information to complete incident, medication variance, infection control variance reports. Ensures emergency readiness, and initiates timely emergency measures as appropriate according to role responsibilities.
